Ganesh Chaturthi
Vinayaka Chavithi, also known as Ganesh Chaturthi, is celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm across Bengaluru South. In 2026, the festival falls on Monday, 14 September in Bengaluru.
During the celebrations, families, temples and local communities install beautifully decorated Lord Ganesha idols and conduct special prayers, bhajans and cultural programmes. The festival brings people together and creates a strong sense of community, devotion and cultural unity.
A major highlight is the Ganesha idol immersion (Visarjan) after the festival. In Bengaluru, authorities are encouraging devotees to choose eco-friendly clay idols to help protect lakes and other water bodies from pollution.
The 64th Bengaluru Ganesh Utsava is scheduled from 14–26 September 2026, adding music, cultural performances and devotional programmes to the festive atmosphere.
